Total Ag Receives Rebates For Energy Efficiency
Total Ag recently completed its new facility in Hillsboro, and received $17,791 in rebates using the Bright Energy Solutions programs for new lighting, solar blocking window film, regulated speed air compressor, variable frequency drives, geothermal system, and an Energy Star® washer. Total Ag applied for the rebates through the City of Hillsboro (N.D.) and Missouri River Energy Services (MRES).
This project will continue to save Total Ag for years to come with the reduction in peak energy usage. The total estimated savings for this project is 40 kilowatts (kW) of demand monthly and 210,469 kilowatt-hours (kWh) in energy annually over building the facility to code levels. In addition to the energy savings, the facility also has state-of-the-art fixtures, bulbs, and equipment that have a longer life than previous technology; also saving on maintenance costs in the future.
Many Hillsboro residents and businesses have received cash rebates over the past couple of years as part of an effort to encourage people to be more energy efficient.
The program, known as Bright Energy Solutions®, provides incentives for qualifying energy-efficient residential heating and cooling equipment and Energy Star appliances.
Business customers can also take advantage of rebates for a variety of measures including lighting, variable-frequency drives, heating and cooling systems and food service equipment.
“The Bright Energy Solutions program helps our customers get the most from their energy dollars by installing proven energy-efficient technologies,” said Jim Anderson. “Our utility is committed to playing a key role in promoting energy efficiency, and Bright Energy Solutions is just one of the innovative ways we can help customers realize energy savings, today and well into the future.”
To apply for cash incentives, customers must complete an application form and provide the required documentation to the city office. Application forms are available through local contractors and retailers, and can also be printed from www.brightenergysolutions.com
